Selling the dream in Croatia
Grand Hotel Brioni Pula is a luxury hotel on the beautiful Istrian coast in Croatia. Guests at the hotel receive a complimentary printed guide to the local area, focusing on culture, history, food and drink, and leisure activities.
Our client, PPHE, briefed us to refresh the design and layout for this guide, giving it the feel of an upscale lifestyle magazine, complementing the engaging and informative content with striking imagery, as well as reflecting the exceptional quality of the Brioni guest experience.
We designed the magazine with a clean, clear, contemporary visual style, making the most of the eye-catching photography of local scenery, landmarks and leisure activities, as well the hotel exteriors and interiors. To make the content relatable and aspirational, we emphasised lifestyle imagery with people enjoying the Brioni experience.
The aim of the magazine design was simple: to inspire the reader and create an exciting journey, teasing highlights on the front cover and subtly integrating editorial with ‘soft sell’ promotion of the outstanding hotel facilities.
To create a more logical content flow and encourage readers to keep reading, we rebuilt the pagination and page templates and personalised the experience with regular messages that highlighted the valuable concierge service available within the hotel.
