Working with Barker Gotelee
A Suffolk firm of solicitors with a reputation for specialist knowledge and personal service, Barker Gotelee came to us for a rebrand and new website.
In a crowded sector, one specific and unavoidable challenge was the existence of a competitor with a similar name. Careful consideration was given to this to ensure Barker Gotelee maximised its individuality. By emphasising the ‘Barker’ element of the name with bolder type and the stronger of the two core brand colours, it created a greater sense of separation in the market. We evolved the typographic angles of its previous incarnation to give it a much sharper, more contemporary finish, while reformatting it to a stacked format brought greater usability and versatility.
Working with both individuals and commercial clients, their particular expertise in agricultural law is an important differentiator and one we articulated succinctly in a positioning statement: For life, land and business.
This strapline plays an important supporting role not only in defining who they are as a company and the services they offer, but also in emphasising their Suffolk roots. Together with the new brand, website and its distinctive colour palette, it presents Barker Gotelee as a firm with a rich heritage, but a determinedly forward-facing outlook.
