From start-up studio to scalable fitness brand

Working with StudioFlex

The challenge

StudioFlex launched with a simple idea: to give people the support and structure of personal training, but in a small group setting that’s more accessible and enjoyable.

From the beginning, the goal was to build more than just one studio. The founders wanted to create a brand that could grow – something premium but welcoming, with the potential to expand into multiple locations and eventually a franchise model.

Ascender Creative partnered with StudioFlex from the very start, helping to shape the brand as it came to life. Like most start-ups, some early decisions were made to manage budget and focus investment where it mattered most, including launching with a templated website.

As the business grew and demand increased, it became the right time to build on those early foundations. The focus shifted to strengthening the brand, improving how it showed up, and putting the right systems in place to support long-term growth.

Our approach

From day one, our role has been to act as an ongoing creative partner, helping StudioFlex build a brand designed not just to launch successfully, but to scale sustainably.

We started by creating a bold, and confident premium brand identity that felt aspirational without becoming exclusive or intimidating. From visual identity to tone of voice, every element was designed to make StudioFlex feel modern, welcoming and instantly recognisable, with the flexibility to grow across future locations and franchise opportunities.

As the business evolved, so did its digital presence. What began as a practical templated website in the early start-up phase was rebuilt into a bespoke platform designed to support a new phase of growth. The new website better reflects the quality of the in-studio experience, supports multiple locations, and gives individual studio managers the flexibility to manage content independently.

Beyond brand and digital, we’ve helped create a consistent experience across every customer touchpoint – from café menus, instructor clothing and brochures to direct mail campaigns, social content and ongoing marketing materials.

Alongside this, we’ve developed photography and video content that captures the real energy of StudioFlex, showcasing its people, community and experience in a way that feels authentic and distinctive.

We’ve also helped refine how StudioFlex communicates with its audience. By shaping messaging around different customer motivations – whether that’s achieving results, finding a sense of community, or maintaining consistency – we’ve helped the brand connect more personally with each audience and strengthen both engagement and long-term loyalty.

As StudioFlex continues to grow, our role remains focused on ensuring the brand scales without losing the personality, consistency and quality that define it.

The impact

StudioFlex has delivered strong, consistent year-on-year growth, with revenue increasing significantly over the past three years and profitability improving alongside it, showing a business that is scaling in a sustainable way.

The brand has successfully expanded across multiple locations, with new sites reaching profitability within six months. Customer engagement remains a defining strength. StudioFlex has built a highly loyal audience, with thousands of repeat customers and consistently high occupancy levels. Demand continues to exceed supply across key services, while growth is driven largely through word-of-mouth rather than heavy reliance on paid marketing.

This success has also been recognised externally, with StudioFlex winning the Muddy Stilettos Awards for Best Yoga/Pilates Studio across Suffolk & Cambridgeshire and placing in the Top 5 nationally.

Working together

StudioFlex has evolved from a start-up into a recognisable, scalable fitness and wellness brand with a clear identity and a strong sense of community at its core.

Through a combination of strategic branding, creative direction, and ongoing partnership, Ascender Creative has helped build more than just a visual identity. We’ve helped create a brand that people connect with, a system that teams can deliver consistently, and a platform that supports long-term growth.

“We’ve had the pleasure of working with Ascender Creative on all aspects of StudioFlex’s branding, from our logo and promotional materials to our website design. Their team is incredibly talented, professional, and easy to collaborate with. They really took the time to understand our vision and brought it to life with creativity and precision. The results have consistently exceeded our expectations, and we’ve received countless compliments on our branding and materials. We couldn’t recommend them more for anyone looking for a full-service creative partner!”
